19 of the Russian's twenty-one titles have been achieved on hard surfaces
A resurgent Daniil Medvedev claimed his maiden trophy for 882 days with victory over Corentin Moutet in the competition championship match.
The Russian, a ex- number one, has endured a challenging year, winning just a single victory at the Grand Slams and suffering a meltdown at the New York tournament.
His varied form on the tennis tour - and issues with his serving in particular - resulted in him exiting of the world's top 10 and finally parting ways with long-term mentor Gilles Cervara.
Currently collaborating with his coach and his other coach, the tennis star has steadily progressed in the past month - peaking in a tightly fought three-set win over Frenchman Moutet.
It is Medvedev's initial trophy after the Italian tournament and initial on a hard surface from that period of 2023.
Success also indicates he has secured 21 titles at 21 distinct competitions.
"This marks the first occasion I am participating in a competition with my both daughters at once, so to get a trophy is really nice," stated world number 14 Medvedev.
"This title is in dedication of my child my daughter, because the maiden victory I won when my first daughter Alisa was born was for her."
The tennis star, the 2021 US Open champion, had been defeated in his last six title deciders, featuring in Halle earlier this year.
His counter-punching strategy and frequent outbursts on court had caused commentators to wonder if his capacity to perform at the elite level was over.
Yet the player has made changes in recent weeks, striving to come to the net and perform assertively, backed up by an better service.
The champion fought back from a deficit in the first set against the tricky opponent, securing 4 of the final five games to gain the advantage.
Both players swapped breaks in the following set before Moutet, striving for his initial ATP Tour title, seized the initiative to push for a third set.
Moutet saved four early-game chances in a competitive deciding set before the champion won the break to that score to secure the win.
Fittingly, the winner secured victory with a point at the net, with Moutet failing to control a return after over two and a half hours.
